It is suggested that beginning meditation students take a six-week New Students Course to learn the basics of insight meditation.

Our next New Students Course begins in April.  Here are the details:

Six-Week New Students’ Course

This six-week course will provide instruction in the fundamentals of insight meditation. Emphasis will be placed on learning the practices of sitting and walking meditation, and developing mindfulness in daily life. Explanation of the teachings central to insight meditation will be part of each class.
The course provides an introduction to Downtown Meditation Community.
Each class will include time for discussion and student’s questions. The course is suitable for students with no previous experience, as well as experienced meditators who wish to renew their practice.

Students may also want to attend the Sunday Night Meditation class, to begin their practice, find out about insight meditation and the Downtown Meditation Community.
