Understanding Becoming

7pm – 9pm

Understanding becoming is one of the most important aspects of developing discernment, as we follow the Buddha's path.  When we engage in becoming, we are entering into the realm of thought worlds, we are becoming involved engendering the stories, the narratives that are places of much suffering.  The Buddha, for his part, said that "the holy life is lived for the abandoning of becoming."  The course will provide an opporunity for students to explore becoming and learn ways to move toward abandoning this critical facet of suffering.  As part of our exploration, we will  also study the Buddha's teaching on Dependent Origination and the Five Aggregates.  The six week course will include meditation, instruction, discussion and suggested practice activities.

Students should have sufficient experience in insight meditation practice.
